These Web Pages are about the fighting strain Betta Splendens from BunTong New Village in Ipoh (Malaysia).

Fighting Splendens are raised in dark ponds, they are harvested at between 6 to 10 months old.

Fishes at this age are most suitable for training to become fighters.

Once out of the ponds, they are placed in plastic containers to get them accustom to new and brighter environments.There will also be more human contacts and handling by the breeders.

This serve as a first step in the training process.

After about 7 to 10 days, the fishes will be placed in small individual transparent bottles. The bottles should not be too large to avoid frightening the fishes, the fishes will be kept this way for several days.

Next phase of training shall only begins when the fishes have settled down comfortably, they will then be moved to larger transparent bottles for water swirling and other training exercises.
